10 Tips to reduce hair loss

It is normal to lose 50 to 100 hairs daily. But if you find that you are losing more, your hair growth process may be disrupted by factors such as stress, smoking, medications or poor diet. Here are some things you can do to reduce hair loss:

1. Hair Processing

Avoid chemical hair treatments, such as perms, which can damage your hair and scalp.

2. Keep moving

Stay active to stimulate your blood circulation, which is good for your hair growth.

3. Prevent an iron deficiency

Prevent iron deficiency, which can be a reason for hair loss. Eat enough meat or fish to maintain your iron levels.

4. Take extra vitamins B, C and Zinc

Make sure you get enough vitamin B, C and zinc through your diet or supplements, such as those from Holland & Barrett.

5. Buy a good brush

Use a good brush, preferably one with natural hair, rather than hard plastic or metal brushes.

6. Quit smoking

Stop smoking; this reduces blood flow to your scalp and can restrict hair growth.

7. Check your medication use

Check your medications for side effects of hair loss and consult with your doctor if you think they are causing hair loss.

8. Drink plenty of water

Drink enough water to keep your hair hydrated, which can prevent split ends and breakage.

9. Relax

Relax and reduce stress. Schedule daily moments of rest.

10. Pay attention to hairstyle

Choose a hairstyle that doesn’t pull your hair by the roots. So don’t go for tight braids or ponytails.
