Hair loss men

Symptoms of hair loss men

Do you have a receding hairline or is your crown thinning? Then you may be wondering why men are losing hair or going bald. Stress, smoking, medications and poor diet can be causes of hair loss in men. Most men who go bald are affected by an inherited condition known as Androgenetic Alopecia. 95% of hair loss in men is due to this condition.
Hereditary baldness in men is caused by a genetic sensitivity to a byproduct of testosterone called DHT. Hair follicles that are sensitive to DHT tend to shrink over time. The lifespan of the hair shortens and eventually these follicles stop producing hair.

How does baldness and hair loss affect men?

Going bald can affect men of all ages, even before the age of 20. Hair loss often follows one of the common patterns. The Norwood scale is the most commonly used measurement by specialists to diagnose the extent of baldness and discuss treatment options.

The Norwood scale has seven stages that measure the degree and pattern of hair loss in a man:

Fase 1: No significant hair loss or receding hairline.
Fase 2: A slight receding of the hairline around the temples.
Fase 3: The first signs of visible baldness with deeper receding at both temples and an M-, U- or V-shaped hairline.
Fase 3 vertex: Hair loss on the top of the scalp.
Fase 4: Worse receding of the hairline than in stage 3 and little to no hair on the crown.
Fase 5: Larger balding areas than in stage 4 with a narrower and thinner hair band in between.
Fase 6: The balding areas at the temples and crown grow together.
Fase 7: The most advanced stage of baldness, with a hair band running only along the sides of the head.

Nordwood scale: 7 stages of hair loss in men.

How to prevent hair loss in men?

Treatments for hair loss work best when started early. Stimulating new hair growth is more difficult than slowing hair loss. If you are already significantly bald, a hair transplant may be the best option. You can try the following to keep your hair healthy:

  • Quit smoking, as smoking may be linked to hair loss;
  • Reduce stress;
  • Eat foods rich in protein, iron and vitamins;
  • Consider switching medications if you think it is causing hair loss, in consultation with your doctor.

What to do about hair loss men?

At the first signs of thinning, you can use Finasteride or Rogaine to prevent further hair loss. But once you stop taking these medications, hair loss may return. Also pay attention to the side effects.

Micro Hair Pigmentation (MHP) can also be a solution, a technique in which stubble is tattooed onto the scalp, which can hide scars or improve hair density.

For deep coves, a hair transplant may be considered, where hairs are moved from the back of the head to the desired area.

Regenera Activa against hair loss

Regenera Activa is designed to combat hair loss in men using your own cells to stimulate new hair growth. This three-part process is sometimes combined with a hair transplant for the best results.
Regenera assets is a treatment in which your head is injected with a special suspension that contains stem cells, growth factors and precursor cells. These elements all have very powerful properties. The treatment is good for:

  • Stimulation of hair growth;
  • Hair Thickening;
  • Inhibition of hair loss.

Hair transplantation in Dutch celebrities

A hair transplant is no longer uncommon, and Dutch celebrities such as Gerard Joling and Wesley Sneijder have also undergone it and speak openly about it.

Gerard Joling’s hair transplant. Take Gerard Joling’s hair transplant as an example. The singer has undergone several hair transplants. His first hair transplant was performed using the FUT technique. This is an outdated hair transplant method in which a strip is cut from the back of the head. Hairs from this strip are then placed in the desired area. Gerard Joling was left with a scar from this treatment method. After this hair transplant he was still not satisfied with the result and opted for multiple hair transplants. Now Gerard Joling indicates to be very satisfied with his result.

Hair transplantation of famous athletes. The fact that famous soccer players have also undergone hair transplants is no secret. Wesley Sneijder, among others, is one of these examples. Often, when looking for a hair transplant clinic, people search on the hair transplant of famous Dutchmen like Wesley Sneijder. There are several soccer players who have undergone hair transplants. Some choose to grow their hair long, now that they have their hair back. Wesley chooses to keep his hair short, which of course doesn’t look out of place on him either.

Other famous former soccer players who have had hair transplants include Ronald de Boer, Ruud Gullit and Demy de Zeeuw. Since they still appear regularly on TV, it is easy to see what kind of results the treatment has produced. In addition, this can also be an important reason for choosing a hair transplant. Foreign stars such as David Beckham and Wayne Rooney chose to have their thinning hair transplanted.

Many other famous Dutchmen followed

Besides Gerard Joling and Wesley Sneijder, there are several other famous Dutch people who have had hair implants. On the Internet you can read many stories about the hair transplants of Raymond van Barneveld, Nesim Najih, Arie Boomsma, Lange Frans and Frans Bauer. That a hair transplant is no longer only for bn’ers should be clear. Especially the hair transplant costs in Turkey are affordable for most people and the medical specialists deliver great results.
